acrylic resin fiber, also polyacryl, polyacrylonitril or briefly acrylic resin called, is a synthetic fiber, which is obtained polymerisation of acrylonitril. Polyacryl form long linear molecules, which are very arranged for use as (textile) a fiber.

Polyacrylonitril (PAN) are a polymer that by means are an addition polymer that by means of radicaalpolymerisatie are produced acrylonitril.

Pure polyacrylonitril are not suitable for making clothing because these are plastic very brandgevaarlijk and are attached badly to dyes. By additive of small quantities of vinyl hydrochlorate to the polymer fire permanence is raised. By additive of styreen the joining of dyes is improved.

The acrylic resin fiber which becomes for making textile is used a copolymer of approximately 85% acrylonitril has been completed, with vinyl hydrochlorate, styreen and possibly other aid substances.

Fibers of pure polyacryl can be converted by means of pyrolysis into carbon fibers.
